WHAT IS TELEHEALTH?
Telehealth refers to the delivery of healthcare services remotely using digital communication technologies such as video calls, phone calls, secure messaging, or mobile health apps. It allows patients to consult with healthcare professionals without needing to travel to a clinic or hospital, offering a convenient and efficient way to receive care for a wide range of medical needs.

The Telehealth Process
Telehealth maintains the same standard of care as in-person visits, using secure, user-friendly technology to ensure a safe and effective healthcare experience.
Following a referral and contact with your employer we will contact you to arrange a suitable time for the Telehealth consultation. Prior to the Telehealth consultation you will receive an email and/or text containing a consent form that you are to complete and send back prior to the consultation. You will also receive a secure link via email, just click on this for the consultation. Should your initial assessment indicate that an in-person evaluation is necessary, we will discuss the next steps and available options with you.

What kind of things can I have assistance with when it comes to career services? We can assist you with professional CV writing including a CV refresh and assistance with cover letter writing. Job search education and coaching programme (PEP) including support with interviewing and job search education and support. A session on Linkedin, where we provide an education session and support you with profile writing.
Is telehealth effective for physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy? Yes. Many assessments, treatments, and coaching sessions can be safely and effectively delivered remotely. Research supports telehealth for managing pain, movement, functional skills, rehabilitation, and more.
What kinds of conditions can be treated with telehealth physio or OT? - Musculoskeletal injuries (e.g. back, neck, shoulder) - Return-to-work planning - Ergonomic assessments - Hand and upper limb therapy - Neurological conditions - Pain management
Can someone attend the session with me? Yes. A support person, parent, caregiver, or workplace contact can be present if helpful or necessary.
How do I prepare for a telehealth session? - Choose a quiet, well-lit space with enough room to move if needed - Use a device with a camera, microphone, and internet access - Wear comfortable clothing - Have any requested items ready (e.g. chair, towel, tools, equipment) - Ensure that you have signed your consent form. Consent is required to ensure you understand and agree to participate in telehealth services, particularly regarding privacy and safety.
What happens during a telehealth session? - Your therapist will ask about your goals, symptoms, and challenges - They may observe your movements, posture, or how you perform daily tasks - They’ll guide you through exercises, strategies, or task modifications - You may receive education on self-management, pain relief, or equipment use
What happens after the appointment? Will I get a plan, exercises, or handouts? Yes. You’ll receive a tailored plan, which may include exercises, strategies, or education materials via email or an app. Will I need follow-up appointments? Most clients benefit from follow-up sessions to track progress and adjust the plan. Your therapist will discuss a schedule that suits you. What if I need in-person care? If hands-on support or further assessment is needed, your therapist may refer you to an in-person provider or clinic.
Can workplace or home environments be assessed via telehealth? Yes. Therapists can assess your home, desk setup, or tasks virtually, and recommend modifications or equipment.
Is telehealth cost covered by my employer? Yes, as your employer has engaged with EnableWorks, so therefore they may cover the cost of the services and associated equipment (up to a certain amount agreed by your employer).
Is telehealth secure and private? Yes. Sessions are conducted on secure, encrypted platforms to ensure your privacy and comply with health information laws.
What if I don’t have good internet access? In some cases, a phone consultation can be arranged. However, video is preferred for accurate assessment and interaction.
